FINK TAKES ON ALL-COMERS AND IS CROWNED THE 2008 APG BIGGEST THINKER OF THEM ALL

Stand aside Joe Calzaghe. When it comes to fisticuffs of the big-brained variety, Mr Graham Fink of M&C Saatchi is the best pound-for-pound brain of his generation. Or so the packed audience at the 3rd annual Battle Of Big Thinking decreed on Thursday 6th November at The British Library.

Seven themed bouts - Big Creative Thinking, Big Research Thinking, Big PR Thinking, Big Marketing Thinking, Big Planning Thinking, Big Thinking in Communications Planning and Big Publishing Thinking - gave us a stellar line up of 21 contestants.  Each had just 15 minutes, not a nanosecond more, to make their case as the biggest thinker in their field.

Using state of the art voting technology the two hundred-plus audience selected Graham, Les Binet of DDB, Angie Moxham of 3 Monkeys Communications, Ian Armstrong of Honda, David Hackworthy of The Red Brick Road, Jason Gonsalves of BBH and Nigel Newton of Bloomsbury Publishing to go through to ‘boot camp’ at the end of the day.

It was then that Graham Fink’s combination of big thinking and big doing (he had created Big thinking.com and enrolled everyone in the audience into it) saw him standing on the shoulders of the other giants.

Well done, Graham.  And thanks to Caroline Marshall and her team at Campaign for making the 2008 Battle Of Big Thinking the best yet Battle Of Big Thinking.
