July's selections are here. And below are some suggestions for August.

Erwin Ephron is one of those charming self-publicisers that American advertising churns out so effortlessly. He gives away all kinds of opinions about ads and marketing and everything. You may not like them but you've got to agree that he's art directed them with energy.

The Museum Of Online Museums is just a bunch of links from Coudal. But what a collection. Obsessive and scary collections of everything. Tremendous fodder for pitches (when you want to talk about passion and the people who love your category.)

The Hidden Persuader is a tremendous blog from Portugal. Advertising/marketing/design news, views and thinking. And a tremendous collection of interesting links. Adrants is a similar thing from the US. Is there a similar UK thing? Why not?

Sometimes it's nice to find people who are really interested in advertising. Not just happy to ignore it. And then you find people who are much, much too interested and are seeing all kinds of stuff that's just not there. Like this site about subliminal ads.

You can't argue with goodlogo. They simply aim to provide the world's finest selection of logos.

Really, really stuck? Visit the Advertising Slogan Generator.

On the face of it, you'd think that ofcomwatch would be quite boring. They describe their mission like this: Ofcomwatch is an informal group blog commenting on the processes and practices of the Office of Communications (Ofcom) and related media and communications regulation issues both in the United Kingdom and around the world. But a) they're providing a really useful service, for free, and b) imagine the power of this kind of blog. What if a group of people decided to blog your brand in this way?

Now this, (The Library of Unwritten Books) is an art project, not a way of doing research. But what a great way of doing research it would be. And what a great art project it is. You can read more about it here.
