Welcome to the Account Planning Group ... Message from Sarah Newman, the new APG Chair. Welcome to APG 2010! I have just taken the reins for a two-year term as APG Chair. It's a great privilege, and, with the help and support of our fantastic committee, I want us to make a positive difference to the professional lives of Planners both in the UK and internationally. Our committee is a team of Planners (entirely voluntary) and we meet once a month to agree initiatives and make sure that the APG operates in the best interests of the community of Planners. I've been a Planner at Ogilvy in London for most of my career - the last four years as Head of Planning. I've always been a keen member of the APG, and latterly a shortlisting judge for the APG Creative Strategy Awards and the head of APG Training. The APG is thriving, and we intend to build on that success: record-breaking APG Awards; the Battle Of Big Thinking; and APG's industry-leading training programme. Our strategy for the group is evolving, and over the coming months you'll see some positive changes, including:
We are going to focus on making sure our members are getting what they want and need from the APG. To this end I have created two new committee posts - one for Membership and one to encourage Networking. Check out the committee page to see who's involved and what's expected of them! We are a membership organisation so your views are what matters: later in the year we intend to carry out a more formal poll of the membership. We're looking forward to an exciting couple of years.
