I don’t think I really need to advise my younger self, as looking back, I think I had it all sorted then, but things get fuzzier the closer I get to my current state of mind (Brian Eno had a lovely phrase about never listening to the records he made in the past, because you only remember the outputs, not the doubt and uncertainty that went into it and risk being “perpetually in awe of your younger self”).
The thing I think I did rather well, was rather simple, which was to try to be a little better everyday. Every client meeting I had, every proposition I wrote, every creative briefing I did, I would reflect on and try to work out what went well and how to do more of that. Believe you can always be better and work out how to do it. Simple.
