Adam Morgan is the highly respected author of Eating The Big Fish: How Challenger Brands can compete against Brand Leaders’, a seminal work in the world of branding. It not only coined the phrase Challenger Brand, but outlined a process for doing more with less whose principles have been widely praised and much imitated around the world.
Sue Unerman – Mediacom

Guy Murphy – JWT

Mark is a co founder and Managing Partner of communications agency Now. He was Chief Executive of the Central Office of Information 2009 – 2011. Mark co-founded and was chief executive of Delaney Lund Knox Warren from 1999 – 2009. He was Chairman of the Advertising Association from 2006-9 and has served on the Council of both IPA and ISBA.
Sara Bennison – Barclays
After graduating from Oxford, Sara spent 18 years agency side, starting at JWT. Her last agency job was as a Managing Partner at Grey, heading up account management. Sara then crossed over to the ‘other side’ with a group role at BT swiftly followed by her current job as Marketing Communications Director for Barclays UK Retail Bank. There she is responsible for all the advertising, brand and branch marketing elements of the business. She sits on the General Media Panel for the ASA and also the board of ISBA.
Fern Millar – LBi
Fern joined LBi in October 2011 as Director of Strategy and Insight for EMEA. Prior to joining LBi Fern worked at Delaney Fletcher Bozell, JWT, DLKW and Karmarama in planning, developing a more integrated approach as she went.
She has previously won the ‘APG Grand Prix’ for KitKat and was ‘Campaign Face to Watch’ in 2004. In 2011, she helped secure Karmarama’s place as Marketing Week’s ‘Agency of the Year’. Throughout her career Fern has worked with some of the world’s biggest brands across a dizzying array of sectors, including Costa, the BBC, Unilever, HBOS Group, Burger King and Nestle At LBi Fern is working with some of the agency’s biggest brands including Virgin, Carlsberg, Ethihad, Premier Inn and Lloyds on their digital vision.

Andy has spent 20 years working in agencies like AMV.BBDO, RKCR, Goodby Silverstein and MCBD – on campaigns as diverse as Hovis, Met Police, Virgin Atlantic and Anti-smoking. He’s one of the most awarded planners of all time, having won APG Golds on both sides of the Atlantic and 3 IPA Grand Prixs (in 2005, 2007 and 2010) among a load of other gongs. After all that, he’s looking forward to being on the other side of the judging process this year.
Alastair Green- Mindshare
Alistair Green is Head of Strategy at Mindshare and currently works across Land Rover, Unilever, River Island and BP. Previously Alistair was Planning Group Head at BBH where he worked on numerous clients including Levi’s, KFC, Surf, Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Burberry and St. John Ambulance. Alistair previously was a recipient of an APG award for launching KFC’s Soul Food Campaign.
Brian McCarter – Ogilvy
Brian was part of the first big wave of agency planners who left agency life to go freelance. He spent a decade working independently in London and New York. Having returned to the UK in 2012 to take up the position as Head of Planning, EMEA for O&M Advertising, he hopes to be part of a new wave of planners returning to lead refreshed and revitalised agencies. Brian began his career at Gold Greenlees Trott in the late ’80s under the creative tutelage of Dave Trott and later worked at Leagas Shafron Davis Chick, O&M and BBH London.
Conor McNicholas – Redwood
Conor McNicholas is Executive Editor at Redwood, the world’s biggest and most-awarded content agency. He was previously Editor of NME for seven years and served as the Chairman of the British Society of Magazine Editors. He still judges the BSME Awards and has been a judge for the PPA Awards, Sony Radio Awards and was a member of the Mercury Music Prize judging panel for three years.
Dan Cook – ITV
Daniel was one of the small team who developed Lovemarks at Saatchi and Saatchi. He then spent a few years at RKCR/Y&R and then joined a small group of people at the BBC to develop Audience Planning. He recently joined ITV as its first Director of Planning and Research to develop Audience Planning in a commercial broadcaster.
Zoe Lazarus – DLKW Lowe
Zoe is a founding partner of Lowe Counsel, the cultural insight and marketing analysis consultancy dedicated to identifying and understanding emerging trends in consumer attitudes and behaviour. Having held senior planning roles at Fallon, Weiden & Kennedy and Ogilvy & Mather, Zoe’s areas of expertise include luxury brand communication and Generation Y. Zoe is a regular speaker at global marketing conferences around the world and is regularly quoted in mainstream and marketing press.
Tim Hunt – The Guardian
Tim is working with Guardian News & Media consulting on Commercial Strategy and Marketing. Prior to this Tim has spent the last 10 years in a variety of TV roles – most recently as Marketing & Product for YouView – the new subscription-free internet-connected TV service for the UK where he was responsible for strategy, advertising, communications/PR as well as Product and User Experience / design. Previous Marketing roles have included Marketing Director at Freeview, launch Marketing director of Project Kangaroo (the online BBC / ITV Channel 4 joint venture), and Sky Italia, which was to become one of Europe’s leading pay-TV operators with over 3m customers within twelve months. Tim’s first career was in advertising and he was Managing partner of St. Lukes, the cult creative ad agency with clients including BskyB, Eurostar and COI.
Omaid Hiwaizi – Sapient Nitro
Omaid leads marketing strategy, brand planning and digital strategy thinking across a number of SapientNitro’s national and international clients and has worked on brands in most sectors – from banking to gambling and telecommunications to ice cream. He’s driven by pure maths, techno, rugby and esoteric philosophy.
