APG West aims to demonstrate, facilitate and celebrate better planning and strategy in the South West. We hope to establish a community of like-minded people from agencies and clients alike, run events and training that inspire better strategy, and make it easier to attract and retain great strategic talent within the region.
1 March 2018 Bristol is hosting Social Media Week again, and among many brilliant sessions planned there’s one that will definitely appeal to planners and strategists in the region.
10 May 2017 A write up of APG West Planning Labs, May 2017. This event posed a deliberately provocative question: Can you do the best work of your life outside London?
13 April 2017 We started APG West to help embed strategic thinking as a more prominent part of agencies’ (and clients’) business here. That’s our local, micro challenge. But as an industry we also face many macro challenges. Technology is changing the marketing mix.
2 December 2016 Last month Bristol held its first ever Social Media Week. There were more than fifty events, and more than 1500 people attended or spoke at them. 8 November 2017 Each speaker had been invited to share their own perspective on the ‘planning essentials’. This was a chance, ahead of our very first training program in the new year, to go back to basics and hear from experts on the fundamentals of being a planner.
19 July 2016 Speakers from Indicia, McCann, The Real Adventure, Bray Leino, Mubaloo and True shared client case studies where planning made an impact on the agency's work and a positive contribution to their clients' business. We heard different perspectives on planning, different techniques to take away, and celebrated the diverse planning scene in the region. (No Content)
15 June 2016 APG West started with questions, not answers. What would people in Bristol, Bath and the surrounding area need from the APG? What challenges do the creative businesses of the region face? What would constitute success for them? How should the community come to life?
21 April 2016 Our launch event is on April 21st, and features a keynote from Dom Boyd, Group Head of Strategy at adam&eveDDB. He’ll tell us about the opportunities presented by the age of 'Brand Entrepreneurs' – planners who are more than just smart thinkers, but innovative doers as well.
