HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR JOB TO A 7-YEAR-OLD CHILD?

My job is to make sure you see an advertisement you like! Whether when you're watching your favourite TV show, or before a movie, or even before a YouTube video. Whatever media channel you like to use, I'm keen to know.

WHAT 3 SKILLS SHOULD EVERY GOOD PLANNER POSSESS?

Be curious, be empathetic, be brief

WHO OR WHAT IS THE GREATEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR CAREER AND WHY?

Reading Jon Steel's Truth, Lies and Advertising peaked my interest in the industry, and particularly the planning discipline. The fact he now lives in my hometown Perth is also a bonus fun fact!

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Opportunity to chat with "planners" from other industries for their advice, who do not have "planner" in their job title. I'm thinking architects, engineers, surgeons...essentially those who have to think both creatively and practically in their role, which I see as essential skills for planning.

WHICH BOOKS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU AND WHY?

Biographies spark inspiration. Fiction sparks imagination. I grew up reading too many waffling fantasy novels. Now I prefer to get my fiction-fix through film. Concise mediums = lose touch with reality quicker.

HOW DO YOU WIND DOWN?

Friends. Or alcohol. Usually both.

WHAT MAKES YOU GET UP IN THE MORNING?

Coffee or a full bladder (likely triggered from previous evening's social shenanigans)
